July Elections

Welcome to July! This month has a lot of hype around it, due to the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence punctuated by the tight aspects of the outer planets. It may be a month of big headlines and global awareness, especially as Mars moves to conjoin Uranus around July 4. 

 

Here is what we are working with in July:

 

The Sun starts the month in Cancer and ingresses his Domicile, Leo on July 22

 

The Moon visits each sign, as always

 

Waning from 20 Capricorn to 20 Cancer

 

Waxing from 21 Cancer to 5 Aquarius

 

Waning from 6 Aquarius to 29 Aquarius

 

Mercury is Retrograde in Cancer until July 22

 

Venus is in Leo until her July 9 ingress to Virgo, the sign of her Fall

 

Mars begins the month in Gemini and remains there throughout the month

 

Jupiter is in Leo throughout the month

 

Saturn is in Aries throughout the month

 

Saturn stations Retrograde July 25 – December 9

 

For a review, we are looking for a basic election with the planet of choice well dignified, rising or culminating during their own hour and preferably day, and for the planet and the Moon to be unafflicted. 

 

Our election will come later in the month and focuses on the Sun in his domicile, Leo. The election finds the Sun rising during the Sun’s hour on Sunday with Jupiter in close conjunction. Saturn separates from the MC and is at a wide enough orb not to be a factor in this election. The Moon is the only hiccup that prevents this from being a talismanic election, since she is separating from a trine with the Sun where we would prefer to have her applying. She is waxing, though, so this is a great election opportunity.
