We are excited to announce the revival of the NCGR Asteroid SIRG (Special Interest Research Group), a visionary initiative first led by Demetra George in the 1980s. This group ignited a movement to highlight the importance of asteroids in astrology, showing how these celestial bodies can offer deeper insights into birth charts and enrich astrological practice. Now, we’re bringing that pioneering spirit back with renewed energy, inclusivity, and community collaboration.
This group will be led by astrologers Amy Angelo and Lori Kaufman – both have studied Asteroids with Demetra George and apply asteroids in their practice and framework. Amy is a professional astrologer based in NYC and is currently a graduate student at Columbia University studying psychology with a focus on spirituality, mind and body. Lori is a professional astrologer, dancer, teacher, author, and circus performer located in Cincinnati, OH.
Our mission is to advance research, foster awareness, and further integrate asteroids into astrology. Together, we’ll explore the unique stories, patterns, and cultural significance of these celestial bodies.
What to Expect:
Together, we’ll create a space for a new generation of astrologers to bring forward a new era of asteroid exploration. Join us on this journey of research, storytelling, and community building. In 2025 we will host a monthly Zoom meeting to share stories, research and more.
Join our community container here and stay updated on research, meeting details and group updates.
See you soon!
