This group will focus on mundane astrology, the study of planetary cycles in relation to historical, political, and social events. We will give particular attention to the methodological challenges of correlating astrological cycles with complex socio-political and historical phenomena such as wars, revolutions, political realignments, and other collective events.
We plan to meet on the second Thursday of the month at 4pm UK time (11am East coast, 8am Pacific). First meeting will be on Thursday, Nov 13th
Carolina Martin (Caro) is a professional astrologer with an academic background in Sociology (M.A., PhD ABD).
She spent nearly two decades teaching and researching comparative historical sociology and working in international policy before turning her lifelong passion for astrology into a career.
Today she runs a busy consultation practice, teaches at the AstroButterfly School, and pursues historical astrology research in her spare time. She is currently co-guest editor of Correlation.
Tom Stedall studied physics at Cambridge University and holds a PhD in physics from Bristol University in computational biochemistry.
He was a visiting scholar in Philosophy and Religion at the California Institute of Integral Studies, is a research assistant to Dr Rupert Sheldrake, and is a Research Fellow of the Schumacher Institute.
Dr Stedall’s empirical study, The Gods of War (2023) was published in Correlation 36.1, and he is currently serving as co-guest editor of Correlation. Tom’s fundamental and connecting interest is in the nature of consciousness.
