Origins

NCGR was founded on March 6, 1971, at the home of Harry F. Darling in Wareham, Massachusetts. Its articles of incorporation were signed at 9:02 pm. Darling was NCGR’s first chair.

The founders included astrologers, medical professionals, scientists and scholars, all interested in exploring astrology as it relates to other disciplines.

The decision to use “geocosmic” in NCGR’s title was made to avoid the popular misunderstanding of astrology and to set the tone for a serious and scholarly approach to the study of correspondences between life on earth and the cycles of the cosmos.
